Katrina Kaif Too Busy for Govinda

Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif is too busy for her one time co-star, the old schooler Govinda. Katrina Kaif has turned down a cameo role in the film, "Life Partner." The film stars Fardeen Khan, Genelia D'Souza, Tusshar Kapoor and Prachi Desai and tells a story of contemporary couples. Katrina was asked to do a cameo appearance opposite Govinda who is the only actor in the film without a heroine opposite him.

It seems like director Rumi Jaffrey jumped the gun and expected Katrina to take on the role since she had played a full fledged romantic role opposite Govinda in " Life Partner," and thought she would be excited to do the cameo. But alas, Katrina said she just doesn't have any time to spare for the appearance.

It wasn't a film that she was busy with. She is in London for her birthday and family reunion. The whole family is going to take a vacation together soon after. The director says they couldn't wait for Katrina because that would mean they'd have to delay the wrap up shoot since most of the movie has already been shot.

The producers Abbas-Mastan want to release the film in August without delay, so Katrina was no longer considered for the part. Instead they have gotten Amrita Rao for the film, who has been getting a lot of attention for her new sexy look.

Katrina Kaif might've wanted a new beat, considering Govinda has been around the business and then some. Still a young actress, and definitely a hot one, Govinda could be old news to her.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2010

Miami Fashion Week hits runways Wednesday, July 15 2009 through Sunday, July 19 at the Raleigh Hotel as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. This is the fifth year of swimwear shows which takes place in the hot sunny city with its biggest swimwear lineup.

Five days in the row the runways present the sexiest models and designs.

Boutique owners and glossy magazine editors, department store buyers are invited to the show. They are those who have already attended the huge, annual trade show by the Swimwear Association of Florida at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

With all the editors in town,’’ said Miami Beach swimwear designer Red Carter, ‘‘you have a message and you are making a statement [at the shows]. I think there’s nothing like it.’’

The number of designers who make shows grew to 19 this year, up from 15 in 2008.

This is the biggest season we’ve had in five years,’’ said senior director of fashion and events for IMG’s fashion division Christina Neault .

Various designers take part in this catwalk show : Carmen Marc Valvo, Gideon Oberson, Norma Kamali and the Badgley Mischka

Over time those famous names were moved aside by brands of more mass attractiveness, like Tommy Bahama, Ed Hardy Swimwear, Diesel, True Religion.

New names are also on the list. New Yorker Crystal Jin Eley will show the debut summer 2010 collection .

In terms of exposure, we decided [Fashion Week Swim] was probably the best way to go to get the line out there and in eyesight,’’ Eley, a former designer with Proenza Schouler and J.Crew, said of her new namesake label.
